    Happy 3rd Birthday Toby!!
    Where has that time gone?
Toby continues to beat his prognosis and lives life to the full. Another six monthly check before Christmas but despite 2 scares(hot spots) F6908227-4EC6-43C7-AE1D-DD16AC4B4223.jpeg in the last 12 months we stay optimistic.
Just wish we could get to the bottom of his allergies.
And yes we did choose the flooring to match the dog!

Another 6 monthly check up another 4 weeks of stress. This time the reactive lymph node showed an abnormal cell load. These then had to be tested for lymphoma! What should have been 10 days turned into 21 days as the lab forgot to run the test. That came back normal and a quick trip back to the oncologist yesterday confirmed both lymph nodes now symmetrical. No answers as to why it keeps blowing up but crucially no evidence of mast cells anywhere(liver, spleen, lymph nodes) The next check in August will be his last. Everything crossed for that one.
I also paid for a rather expensive allergy test whilst they were taking blood. The table below show his results. Waiting to speak to the dermatologist now to see what if anything we do going forward.

Well done both of you. So happy to hear Toby is doing well. Might the lymph node be related to his allergies?

Thank you. Yes possibly. The worry is that it is always the draining lymph node nearest his ear removal so they end up double checking everything. This was the first time they suspected Lymphoma so that was a huge relief when it came back ok.
I need to do a bit more research as I think other nodes would react too if it was allergy based.

Thank you. We can chill now for another 6 months then hoping he can be a normal 3 year old after that!
Hope you are doing ok. Hopefully we will soon be out of lockdown and normal like can resume. Did I notice you mention a new litter?

I started this thread nearly 2 1/2 years ago with the terrible diagnosis that Toby only had a 6% chance of living two years if he didn’t have radical surgery(ear removal) and 6 months of chemo. That would give him a 70% chance of survival. Given that he was only 18 months old it was a no brainer despite all my fears and his hatred of going to the vets.
Well here we are! He will be 4 in two weeks time and has just been given the all clear and signed off from the oncologist!!Onwards and upwards Toby. 287869D4-9B60-43B9-846D-3190265DAC98.jpeg

So happy for you both. What a handsome boy. Johnny and Maggie send their regards.
The rug and floor are too clean. Are you sure he's a lab?

Johnny recovered beautifully from TPLO surgery #1 in Jan 2020 and TPLO #2 in July 2020. I highly recommend not attempting to get surgery for your dog during a pandemic. Since Johnny is doing so well Maggie must have felt left out so she has a skin condition of the sort that needs the $100 a bag hydrolyzed protein kibble - that doesn't work. She sees the veterinary dermatologist next week. I don't get to see the vet because of COVID. I sit in my car ...

All in all both are well.
