I think that's excellent progress and in a short space of time. Keep up the great work x :)

We do make our guests aware and do stress that they ignore him although when kids are involved this becomes tricky.

We gave him his Kong for settling down so hopefully in the future he will remember that being calm will get him treats.

    Thanks again for the input

I'm sure he will remember it and, gradually, you will see steady improvement :)

    Round 2 of visitors tonight.

If was greeting our guest at door and dog and as we came into the lounge dog was tail wagging looking to say hello.

I stood in between the two of them and made sure dog got back into his spot and gave some space to our guest.

This seemed to work to my amazement and dog walked calmly over to our guest (unheard of) he did however get excited after sniffing so this resulted in time out.

Over the moon with this result

Well done excellent. You should definitely be over the moon. ;D. That's a great improvement.

You standing between the dog and you guests could have been seen by your dog as a calming signal. Dogs use splitting up like that for calming each other. :)
