Today we went and picked our new puppy. There were three girls to choose from and we decided to go for this little girl. She has a small flash of white on her chest but is pure breed black lab from longline of blacks. They said the white is a genetic rarity or something? [/quote] It's not that rare - so not that rare that it appears in the UK breed standard that says a small white flash of white on the chest is permissible.
Re: Meet Maisie! What a lovely looking pup, and a great way to start 2015. A little flash of white, sometimes called a medallion, is perfectly acceptable. My Tammy had one.
