Thanks all. Hachi is now just a little over 14 weeks. He is a bundle of energy, plays a lot, walks a lot. One question - he is biting feet a lot. I crate him for a minute or 2 when he does that. I have to do it 2-3times in a row - and then only he understands . Do 14 weeks puppies bite a lot? Can someone tell me when will this start to improve
Yes 14 week old pups do bite a lot - you will see the term crocopup a lot on here! I still have the scars of Bailey's puppyhood! I found that after his adult teeth had come in together with training impulse control the biting improved quickly. Now it is only when he is over excited that the teeth come into play and then it is very gentle pressure. The worst is if he's over excited and jumping up at you - most of it accidental as he does open his mouth and can catch an arm on his way down. At 14 weeks old Bailey's favourite chew toy were my toes and fingers - but with training it does improve. I used to put a toy in his mouth when he started chewing on me and if it continued then I stopped all play and looked away from him for a few seconds. If that did not work he got a time out in his gated off area until he had calmed down. Good luck - it does improve honestly.
