Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!!
You could always walk with Riley and I sometime
That's really kind of you Barbara, I firstly need Charlie to get used to the dogs that live around us and reduce his anxieties, then when he is eventually a very good boy and has good doggie manners we would love to walk with you and Riley . As you know Charlie likes to take his time in all aspects of training : Thank you so much. x
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! Shame we are too far away Though they would just hooley : Actually Lilly is much better now - waits to be invited rather than instigating it.

Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! Only just caught up sorry it didn't work out Helen. Although if you've got her number it might be worth texting her. You didnt want to chase her up perhaps she thought the same.wires got crossed.
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! Wish we lived closer - I'd be very happy to walk with you xx

Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!!
I would walk with you if I could...
ME TOO!! Simba never gets doggy pal walks either...I would so love to have someone with a dog that would go on walks with me.
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! Oh Helen, what a let down!id walk with you too if I could, hope it works out next time or you find someone else a bit more reliable : x
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! There you go, Helen, you've got walking buddies in Canada, Dubai and Australia. Now we just need to work on the people in your village....
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! Whereabouts are you Charlie? (roughly i mean). we're dorset / wiltshire / somerset.
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! And Lingfield if you are anywhere near there. Is Charlie very nervous of other dogs (sorry seem to have missed the original problem/worry)? Lady is always very wary of other dogs. I must admit to not having introduced her at all gently to other dogs. She pretty much just had to get on with things and sort herself out on the hoof. I found other dog walkers once I'd met them a few times were very happy to share the walk together with the dogs bumbling along with us. I'm lucky I suppose in having got to know a group of owners and we tend to meet around the same time most days with anything up to 8 dogs at a time although usually only one or two others. Same routine from Lady every time. Go flat. Roll over and let them sniff. Get up and hoon off with those that are up for a run. Then just ignore them all and trot along doing her own thing.
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! You are all so kind, thank you HD I am in Hampshire. David, Charlie can be a bit nervous of meeting dogs on lead so I was just trying to get him used to going for a walk round the village to help him. As Charlie is not off lead yet he doesn't get the opportunity to run around with other dogs that he meets Rachael, working on the people in our village is proving very difficult indeed The problem with dog owners round here is they drive to the walk which frankly I don't understand as we are surrounded by beautiful countryside that they can WALK to, they are all stunned when I meet them out and they realise I have walked for about 2 hours : Lisa, I know it's difficult not to have anyone to walk with, poor Simba and Charlie :'( Thanks everyone xx
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! If you are ever near Bristol, or going to see your daughter in Cardiff, I would be very happy to meet for a walk. Charlie might be able to show Harley how walking nicely is done
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! the other problem with us is that honey would aid and abet naughty behaviour as she'd be trying to get Charlie to play whilst he was doing lovely, clever heel walking. honey isn't brilliant at walking next to other dogs at heel. if you cut her open, over sociable would be written through her like a sick of rock. little one is your more flighty type but heaven help you if you walk in front of her as she'll pull like a steam train. hard all this isn't it!
Re: Meeting new dog friends - hopefully!! With you Helen! I have nervy cuillin who is quite scared around dogs she doesnt know. She was well sociaslised, but busy dog creche didnt agree with her and im still dealing with some issues from that, though she is sooooo much better. We have to rely on the goodwill of other owners to help with careful meetings, observing thresholds for cuilli, and little steps forward, so I always walk at the same time ( very early!) so we tend to meet the same owners, and with some lovely patience and understanding from our fellow dog owners she is now really happy to meet all her 'regulars' but its taken time! I would love to walk with you too, Cuillin would have a complete Dog Crush on Charlie ( hes just her type )....come visit scotland! mind you we couldnt take brodick...imagine charlie and brodick....and charlie, lilly, and brodick....oh help ;D
