Oh Kate, how simply dreadful.

On the plus side, dogs are incredibly resilient creatures and I'm sure Millie will be out and about with Sam again in no time.

Gosh, what a horrible ordeal for Millie and for you too. How is your hubby doing with all this? I know he and Millie are especially close. :'(

At least they know what the trouble is and are treating it. Praying that the other eye will be okay! I hope you all will be able to get some sleep tonight.... :-\

Thank you for all the good wishes , we are expecting a call from Mr.Warren the surgeon this morning with an update . Coming home depends on how she is but also how the other eye is looking this morning , if it is more inflamed then she will have to stay put , poor Sam is looking for her, he is as miserable as we are xx

She is home ;D This was a melting ulcer , called so because the bacteria literally eat the cornea which melts quickly , hence the emergency surgery . The surgeon is hopeful to have saved some sight , we don't yet know how much , they used membrane from around her own eye to make a sort of patch which will always be visible but this doesn't matter . She goes back to the hospital on Tuesday for a post op check up and for now, its on lead walks only but she can have long walks after today , thank you for all your good wishes for Millie, very much appreciated xxx
