It's funny, when I tried training retrieve with a ball, all she'd do after a couple of half hearted attempts was to trot of with it to chew. I tried with a dummy, hiding it and sending her to 'find it', and she loves this game and actually brings the dummy back - unfortunately dumps it on the ground though rather than to hand - my fault, not done enough work on that.
