my little jasper is not well today, he as a very upset tummy, rang the vets got to starve him for 24 hours, if he is no better in the morning got to pay a visit to the vets :'(, i am making sure he drinks plenty, yesterday went out with jasper and my grandson logan, for treats we had small pieces of cheese cubes, may be we over did it on the treats, or may be cheese does not agree with his tummy, , the training went brilliant my logan did a sit stay, walked away from him approx 10 mtr, then bent down and shouted come, jaspers little legs ran so fast to him, then logan did a c and t i was over the moon with them both, ......poor jasper he as been sleepy today... i am so upset for him :'(
Re: my boys not well !!!! Poor Jasper, I am so sorry to hear he is not well. Brilliant work with the training you, Logan and of course Jasper . I am sure he will be OK, all dogs get upset tums from time to time. Let us know how he is tomorrow please. Take care Lynne and try not to worry. Helen xx
Re: my boys not well !!!! Oh Lynne , I can tell how upset you are, its no use me saying dont worry because you will , just as we all do when our beloved dogs arent well . Most times, its just a plain old upset tummy , the heat can make it worse too . The starving them is hard but you do right to make sure he gets fluid , especially as its so warm right now . If he refuses to drink , if you get a syringe from the chemist, just squirt tepid water into his mouth . Take care and I hope Jasper is soon bouncing around x
Re: my boys not well !!!! thank you, i am getting him to drink as often as i can, my son will be home soon he will be gutted, i will keep you updated, i just feel helpless ???,the vet did say it may have been the cheese, low and behold he must be taking after me and my son, we dont eat cheese, bought in fresh for jasper,
Re: my boys not well !!!! Hello Lynne How is poor little Jasper now? I do hope he is on the mend. He did really well with his training. I had a lab that was sick after cheese or anything fatty, but she would be fine the next day. Wishing Jasper a speedy recovery

I always sleep with my dogs if they are not well, as I can't bare to have them out of my sight. Not that Elsie and my dear Frank reciprocated when I had the flu at Christmas! Re: my boys not well !!!! thank you all for your well wishes please god i hope he is better tomorrow he as just slept all night, not normal for jasper, normally likes me to have a play with him, i will just sit up tonight, dont know if i am doing the right thing, but i am treating him like i would my children, just sponging him down now and again, he feels warm but been a very hot day, making sure he drinks and generally just looking after him :'(
Re: my boys not well !!!! Poor little boy. I hope he is feeling better soon. Cheese might give a dog runny poops initially, but I'm not sure if it'd cause him to be so lethargic. Maybe he has an allergy to it..? I do hope that he gets over it quickly and/or the vet can get to the bottom of it. Thinking of all of you!
Re: my boys not well !!!! thats is what it is very very watery poops, i have just cupped my hands with water, i just want to make sure he is not dehydrating, i suppose he is just not feeling well, when we are like that we feel lethargic so i guess jasper just feeling unwell, i will sit with him all night, my son and i have an allergy to cheese, may be he just wants to be part of the allergy group (family ) never bought cheese before, never will again, my poor little boy :'(
Re: my boys not well !!!! See if you can tempt him with some warm chicken stock or something like that. I'm sure he is just feeling miserable with the discomfort, poor man. Some dogs do mope a lot more while others are more stoic. I know that you strongly suspect the cheese but it may be something unrelated to cheese - bacterial gut infections or gastro viral infections can all cause those symptoms. Your vet will be able to help rule those out or in.
