Our pups are allowed in our own garden from 8 weeks old, outdoor pavements from one week after the 12 week vaccination and on grass from one week after the 16 week vaccination. They are not even allowed on grass verges until then. We do lots of recall exercises indoors and in the garden. With every pup I’ve had no problem whatever with recall, even with such a rule about grass. Total Recall is the best book for learning perfect recall techniques.
If you do decide not to put your puppy on the ground before the vaccine course has finished, do carry her out to see the world - people, traffic etc. as this is such an important period for gaining social confidence.
