Looking for some solid advise. My 14 year old yellow lab is struggling with his hips, he seems to be uncomfortable sometimes, he’s having some accidents in the house from time to time. I love this dog as much as all my family members. How do you determine when it’s time? I don’t want him to suffer any more! But I don’t want to let him go. This is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. Any advise is helpful… thank you

Sorry to read this, a lot of us have been there. It is such a hard call. chat to your vet, be guided by them. Base your decision on what is best for your dog, and not you. You will will be heartbroken but know you have done the best for your dog.

My heart breaks for you and your boy. I agree...talk with your vet about it and go for what is best for him and his comfort. Hugs from Idaho!

Have you tried medicating, physical therapy, supplements, diet change? If he is overweight, it helps a lot to shed the extra pounds. There are a few things you can do before you decide to let go.
