Hi everyone! My puppy Pippa is 15 weeks old and ever since we got her whenever we are eating she barks and jumps up to lean on our lap. So far I've tried ignoring her completely no touch, no eye contact and not even talking to her. She is very stubborn and will go around to each family member and do the same thing. The other thing I've tried was giving her treats when I say "off" and she sits on the ground nicely and quietly. This works but only if she sees me get the treats. My plan would be to eventually phase out giving her the treats over time. Has anyone had this problem before with any helpful solutions??
We've trained Edsel to go to his bed during our meals. As a pup it started out being in his crate, but as we phased out his crate we taught him "go to bed." He now knows when we are preparing to sit down he is to go to his bed and that once the meal is done he gets a treat.
