I've just been into the local woods with harley for a short walk ( we went to a fab dog shop earlier to get doggy ice cream, then had an off lead walk in the local park/stream - for once Harley was quite good on lead - not too much pulling ). Anyway, we were having a fab walk and harley was in and out of the stream. We turned a corner and there were 2 men on push bikes, each with a lab on collar and extendable lead and a woman with a dog off lead. It was too late to put harley on lead so we tried to walk around them - harley right by my side, when the labs tried to come say hi to Harley and nearly pulled the owners off their bikes. Harley ignored them and stayed by my side. The owners told me to 'hurry up past them' as my dog was distracting them!
Anyway, off we went down the path. 10 mins later one of the blokes came down the path, on his push bike, lab attached, the poor boy was being dragged along, was making an awful noise due to being choked and was told to 'hurry up'. He looked no more than 1 or 2 years old . The bloke stopped a bit further along and yanked the lead, grabbed the collar and told the dog that he doing his head in, the rode off again dragging him along. I was so shocked by what I saw I didn't say anything. I kept my eye out for them but didn't see them again. I can't believe some people can be so cruel

I don't know how I would have reacted. If you say anything they might take it out on the dog. The only thing I tend to think about doing is to take a photo on my phone. Sickening. I hope he fell off his bike over the edge of a cliff.

Sounds a pretty despicable guy who shouldn't be allowed to have an animal.

Sounds like you had a fab time at (Bertie and Boos? :) ) So sorry that you had that experience. I have come across a few cyclists recently on our local common...with dog in tow...:(

Yes it would serve him right. Something similar happened to me a couple of months ago. There was a beautiful black lab about 8 months old. The guy was really well dressed not the stereotypical cruel individual you imagine, but as he approached I could see he had a choke chain and the puppy was really unhappy. As I went to say something he glared at me as if to say don't you dare!! I didn't say anything I just wanted to bring that puppy home. I hope he can't sleep at night.
