We are collecting our Puppy this morning! I have been wanting this for years, once we found our perfect pup I've read Pippas books, stalked the forum, got my home (hopefully) puppy ready!! Ive woke today a bundle of nerves! Mainly centred around introducing to our current dog Lola (a Yorkie cross) and our cats!! I've read up on this, have dog friendly cats, and Lola likes other dogs! Not sure why I feel so apprehensive! I am so excited, I can't wait to see him! Just feel really nervous! Anyone else had this?!
You're welcoming a new family member into your home, and with any big changes it's normal to feel nervous Would love to see pics of the new pup later
Bless you xx It's the unknown which brings the nerves. But once you are dealing with whatever happens during introductions you'll be fine. I'm not promising plain sailing - new pups are never plain sailing lol .
Oh how exciting! What is your pup's name? Yellow, black, chocolate? Big, small? All the very best for today. Whatever happens, it will be fine and you'll sort it all out. Have fun, and remember to take lots of photos - I wish I had more pictures of my big boy Pongo as a tiny pup! Looking forward to hearing all about your adventures. Rosie
How exciting. What will be will be - nerves at the unknown are always going to be there - once you all get home you will deal with whatever happens - Good luck I am so envious a new puppy lovely. Look forward to the photos
So exciting for you, any change is leap of faith -- you just don't know until you do it! Sounds like you are well prepared, like everyone else I look forward to hearing all about him/her.
Thank you all!! Calmed a little! This forum is so great! He is a yellow lab and will be called Jordy! 9 weeks old on Wednesday! We are on route now! Will definitely get lots of photos!
It will all be fine!!! I would feel nervous too - I think it's pretty normal Enjoy cuddling your brand new puppy
All perfectly normal ! We fetched our little rescue girl five weeks ago , I felt just the same , its human to worry but try to relax and enjoy your puppy x
Take videos, too! That clumsy puppy cuteness is all too fleeting. We were also a ball of nerves. Enjoy!!
The very best of luck with Jordy. It sounds as if you're very well prepared - last minute jitters are perfectly normal.
I'm so excited for you! Can't wait to see pictures. It will all be ok in the end. Just enjoy him/her when they're oh so little!
Thank you all for your comments! We have him home and he is so lovely!! Lola is not to impressed, but he is used to other dogs and he backs off quickly if she gives a glare or growl. The cats are ignoring him! Lots of close supervision needed! I will post photos as soon as i figure out how?!
