Oh gloom....Simba has found out he can squash the cone with his paw and make contact with his nose. Generally he leaves it alone but it seems to be when he wakes up after a sleep he realizes it's itchy or something. And I think I'm going to forego the cream for now. It's a steroid antibiotic gel, but I think it stings or something when I put it on...it's not doing him any good anyway as when I put it on this afternoon he immediately started rubbing with the cone...left his nose a bloody mess so in my mind I could do without that.

    Argh. Such a pain.

Poor Simba, that is definitely a tough one on him. I hope it starts to heal up and he gets some relief soon.

Poor Simba, hope you see some improvement soon. Can the vet suggest something more soothing? Like Savlon or similar?

The antibiotic steroid gel would be best to continue if you can, but I do understand it is uncomfortable for him. Maybe he has had enough it by now to start healing, hope so.
