Brilliant! Hope I remember this article in about 8 weeks time. It's really great to know it's ok, you'll get through it. Thanks :)

This article rang so many bells with me! When I got Molly it was over 15 years since I'd last had a puppy and I found it incredibly demanding. But of course it passes.

Great article. The nighttime part is what I am most nervous about. I imagine I will have pup sleep in a laundry basket beside my bed for the first few days, although if she is noisey or won't settle I may have to just leave her crated alone downstairs :( I feel awful thinking of that but I have small children who sleep with me. Now, if there was a magic way to get my youngest daughter to sleep on her own id be all set!

You will know what tiredness is if you have small children - you will also know that the baby stage is soon over!

All will be well, fear not :)

I had one pup sleep beside my bed for the first few nights, so that I could dangle my hand into her bed and also know immediately when she wanted to pee. She never cried once!

Last pup was left downstairs in cage with the other dogs, he cried so much he upset the adult Labrador who had to have medication for anxiety for a couple of days!

Brilliant! Nothing quite prepares you for that fatigue in the first few weeks...you have to have eyes in the back of your head, and I even found myself mechanically telling my husband what a good boy he was! ;D ;D
