Hi to everyone , I am a new member and am so glad to have found and joined this site.
I have a 3 year old lab x which I rescued last year, she had been a breed girl, and had by all signs been pregnant when they found her, and she was taken to vet and speyed, now a few days after that she had a phantom pregnancy , I dont know if they aborted the pups she was having as I do not know the law on this.
Anyway she has had behaviour problems , does not like other dogs, and also when I took her to the place which is the charity shop which gives to the rescue place, the girl went behind her and shook her and she bit her, I was horrified , but they offered to take her back, but no way as she has been through enough already,
Since then has shown no signs of aggression to anyone {except dogs} she loves everyone , particularly kids ,
I had a trainer come out to her and she said in her thirty years of working with dogs , she had never seen one so highly strung and stressed, so this in mind I have tried to work with her and sort things out , and she was coming along much better , and then was attacked by a dog down out street, that was sorted, then I always take her on training lead on open field, {never let her off} and some idiot had let their Akita off the lead, he came straight for us, it attacked me and knocked me down and then set about Daphne , since then me and her have not been walking round the village and just go on a field behind us ,
Anyway the vet has put her on 20 mg Selgian , and I started to see she was a bit more relaxed, until the other night she started to pant really bad and was staring with her ears held right back and she looked petrified , also her back legs/hind quarters started to splay and she wouldnt move, and when I stroked her neck she cried, so we got her to vet straightaway and they said it was 'swimmers tail' because she cried when they tried to lift her tail. so they put her on painkillers and anti-inflammatories and said they couldn't do any neuro observations because of her being so stressed ,
Now they have said for me to take her back for xray tomorrow if she is no better , but I really don't know what to do , as they say it is the pain making her act this way, but if they can't do the neuro obs then how can they tell?
Sorry for this big long post ,but I really don't know what to think.
Thank you to all who may read this .xx:confused:
