Hi Folks, I am based in Scotland and trying to get a fox red labrador puppy. I am stuck in a dilemma just now, allow me to explain what I am looking for. I am after a dark fox red labrador puppy who will be a house pet but occasionally worked when out with friends in the field. The dog therefor has to have the right temperament but also drive for work. I am not fussed over the sex of the pup, infact happy to take your advice on the matter. I have one breeder quoting me £1300 for a male pup. Sire health results are; Hips 3/4 Elbows 0/0 PRA - Clear EIC - Clear SD2 - Clear CNM - Clear Eye tested Clear Dam health results are; Hips 5/5 Elbows 0/0 Elbows 0/0 PRA - Clear EIC - Clear SD2 - Clear CNM - Clear Eye tested Clear Neither dog has attended field trials but have both had hobby exposure to the gun for the occasional pick up. I have another breeder quoting me £1050 for a dog and £1150 for a bitch sire health results; Hips 0/0 Elbows 0/0 Eye certificate unaffected by GPRA, CPRA, HC, TRD PRC AND PRA Clear CNM Clear EIC Clear All pups from the sire have had 0/0 elbows and low hip scores. I am still awaiting details for the dam from the breeder but know the dam to be a field trial champion What is your thoughts and which would be the stand out pick if any?
I should say that the 2nd Sire picks up 6 days a week and has won numerous working test awards and club shows and has conformation awards and kennel club working Gundogs certificate
