Re: New puppy incoming - Updated New photos arrived today, sorry guys I couldn't resist!! Our beautiful Poppy at 26 days old. Cheers Claire
Re: New puppy incoming We are collecting Poppy on Saturday next week, and are all very excited. So I had to share the newest pictures that were received today Poppy @ 7 Weeks
Re: New puppy incoming How exciting. Great name, my first dog ( a Newfie) was Poppy. It really suits a little chipper soul. I have Meg 9 weeks doing great and full of fun. Happy times ahead for you
Re: New puppy incoming - Poppy has arrived We picked Poppy up today and brought her home. She is doing extremely well, we had a little car sickness but that soon passed once we got home. We have fed her and she has had plenty of water, however her poo is now like water and I was wondering if this is just the upset of leaving the breeders. She seems bright in herself, just a little worried. Any advise would be appreciated. Cheers Claire
Re: New puppy incoming Hi, I think the advice is to get your pup checked by the vet a day after bringing her home. So if you do that the vet will be able to diagnose the problem. Hope she is fine soon!
Re: New puppy incoming Thanks, she has a vet appointment for tomorrow, I was just a little concerned as I didnt want her to dehydrate. The breeder wormed her yesterday, couple that with the stress of moving and I am hoping that this is what the problem is. Its all very new and a little worrying. Claire
Re: New puppy incoming I have spoken to my vet on the phone, maybe yours would do the same. After reading your post I saw Pippa has a "When to take your puppy to the vet" article on this forum. Is your puppy happy otherwise? Hopefully someone with more experience than me will come on! When in doubt, call the vet; countless times I have agonised over vet decisions with cats and I ALWAYS feel better when I call the vet. I suppose puppies might go downhill quickly? I don't wish to scare you. Hope it goes well today.
Re: New puppy incoming How is she this morning? It can be very worrying having a new pup home. Lots of people do report upset tums for the first couple of days, but you are right to worry if the diarrhoea persists in a very young pup. Is everything else ok, drinking, eating, lively when awake?
