Today we collected the newest member of the family - River!

She's an 8 week old Working Cocker Spaniel.

So far she's been absolutely fantastic - playful, affectionate and very good with my 3 year old daughter.

Tail hasn't stopped wagging since we collected her.

Needless to say we are totally delighted.

Wish us luck for a good night sleep and a successful vet check tomorrow morning!

Oh wow, what a gorgeous little girl. So tiny in her crate :) . She reminds of our first family dog, she was a little cocker spaniel who was absolutely my best friend and playmate. Hope you had a good first night and everything goes well with the vet check :)

Thanks for your lovely comments everyone.

The vet check went really well - clean bill of health.

She slept downstairs in her crate/playpen and didn't wake us up in the night, which was brilliant - but I woke up worrying about her around 4am anyway, which was less brilliant :)

We've started clicker training sit, hand touch, bed and crate in very short sessions - she's very keen on learning and interaction at the moment, but not the biggest fan of eating, so I will definitely have to find some more tempting rewards for her when she's feeling more independent.

So far so good though :) image.jpg

Good to have a clean bill of health from the vet :) River's appetite will probably improve as she settles to her new home. So many changes for a little one. Well done River on sleeping through the first night, now you just need to follow the example Lucy :)
