    Hello everyone,
We just brought our new puppy Max home yesterday. At the moment we’ve just been trying to ensure he toilets outside (had a few accidents to start but ok the rest of the time so far ). Also need to train him now to whine when we pop him in his crate.
also been reading the thread about letting them off the lead but our garden is not 100% secure at the moment so not sure we should do this just yet?
Hopefully things will start to fall into place over the next few weeks.

    Lucinda.

Hi Lucinda, congratulations on your new puppy. It's important only to let your puppy off the lead in safe areas, so if your garden isn't secure you might find it helpful to attach your puppy to a long line or training leash when you are outdoors. A training leash is just a really long leash without a handle. You don't hold on to it, but let it trail along the ground. Then if you need to stop your puppy moving towards an unsafe area, you can just pick up the end of the long line to keep him safe. You'll find it easier to cope though, as your puppy grows, if at least part of your garden is puppy proof.
