Hello, I’ve had my lab puppy for a couple of weeks now. At first Buddy was the perfect wee guy. Instantly took up toilet training. Would bark at the door to get out to do his business. The only thing that worried me was that he was very timid. But now I think I’ve possibly over stimulated him? He now barks and whines if I leave a room, he never follows me but will literally do it until I return to the room he is in. My dad is home all day and says as soon as I leave he howls and barks constantly until I return or he falls asleep. He is still timid with others apart from me. I’ve tried to socialise him with other people, he seems completely disinterested and will just sulk off to a corner? Is this normal? He now won’t walk through the house with me but is happy to be carried which I’m trying to avoid. I’m at my wits end as right now with this! The last couple of days he has started to go to the toilet inside which hadn’t really happened before apart from the odd understandable puppy mistakes. This evening we were out in the garden after his nap had a play and he did his business. We came inside and and he walked over and pooped on my feet. The door was still open to the garden? I put him straight back out to enforce it’s to be done outside. Cleaned the mess and took him back in. Now he’s just in his bed and ignoring me. He’s been to the vet and is the picture of health, weighing over 9kg at 10 weeks. So I’ve no concerns about his health. Having a had dogs before, I find him really puzzling. Has anyone had similar experiences and could help me understand him a bit more?
