Hi all just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My names Marie my hubbys Paul and on 20th November we are getting a new addition to our house, a chocolate lab called Coco I'm hoping this forum will help us with tips as we bumble our way through. Very excited but apprehensive it's like having a new baby Think we're going to start boring everyone with our puppy talk as we've never stopped yapping about it, pardon the pun

Hi Marie and welcome to the forum from me and Juno, my 16 month old chocolate girl. It's so exciting waiting to collect your puppy. Do you have any photos? We love puppy photos . Have you read Pippa's book The Happy Puppy Handbook? Very highly recommended for preparation for your puppy. Look forward to hearing more about Coco

Hi Marie.....Welcome from me and my black girl Lilly who is 5 and a half.
    Fun fun fun
Have you any previous experience? Lilly is my first dog and it's a steep learning curve! Would have been so much easier if I had Pippa's books and the forum at the beginning.
    Good luck.

Photos have to be hosted through a site like Flic.kr, Imgur etc. There is some help on the Technical pages to get you started, but there's always someone ready to help.

Hi and welcome form me and my two 14-month old monsters. Willow (black girl) and Shadow (yellow boy).

New puppies are so exciting! Is this your first? Willow and Shadow are my first (and second, clearly...) and it definitely has been a steep learning curve, but they're a complete joy.

I can't wait to see pictures of your new little bundle of fun :)

They do grow so fast. I just had a "memory" show up on my Facebook page of Willow at ten weeks of age, a year ago. I can't believe a year has gone so fast!

Hi everyone, no we have no experience as such I had a collie years ago when I first left home but he was 6 months when I got him and its 30 odd years ago now, hubby was brought up with dogs, mother in law has a border terrier and sister in law a cocker poo. We have 4 grandchildren and the one thing I have is time on my hands for this little puppy as I don't work. We're under no illusions it's going to be hard work but rewarding and fun, I'm a Mum of 4 so know what it's like to have eyes in the back of my head and being needed 24/7 Reading up as much as I can and learning from this site my brains in doggy overload at moment lol

Marie F If you try to remember how tired you were from sleep deprivation when your children were babies you know roughly what to expect when you bring your puppy home :rolleyes:. Like you I don't work and adored being able to spend all day with my puppy. She's rarely far from my side and even on walks with doggy friends she keeps a check on where I am. Now is a good time to start planning all your early socialisation visits before Coco can go on the ground in public, and also to prepare yourself for the crocopup stage. The main thing is to prepare for a complete change to your life your puppy will bring, and remember to take lots of photos - they just grow up too quick.

    Hi Marie,
Very exciting!!!! I pick up my yellow pup Piper on Thursday and I have a 6 year old boy Rocco (rescue). This is my first pup as always had rescues. I can't wait. I'm lucky enough to not have to work, but do have 3 kids!!! Lol. But I'm planning lots of socialisation already and am busy puppy proofing our garden which is about half an acre. Rocco has the run and I'd never really looked before but there are several puppy sized escape routes!!! And we need pictures....LOTS of pictures...
