We are off on our holiday on Monday and I am worried that no clicker retrieve training, stop whistle etc. will be affected and take a nose dive :( Is this likely or am I worrying over nothing as usual? ::) Thanks x

Enjoy your holiday :) I don't think all your hard work will be undone, they might just need a few days to remember xx

Well, Charlie got almost zero training for 8 months - I was just treading water trying to stop him going completely nuts. Now, apart from some additional undesirable behaviours related, I think, to frustration and being deprived of things, I'd say his training is exactly where I left it (so he's a 16 month old with the training of an 8 month old ::) ). He seems to have forgotten very, very little.

So I'd say you've no need to worry at all.

    Enjoy your holiday! :) :) :

All will be fine Helen , it really does no harm at all to have a break , in fact for some dogs, it can make them even more keen once it resumes , you go away, have a wonderful time :)

It will probably do some good! Known as latent learning, dog reflects when at rest.
