Lily is home! It took her a little bit to warm up to us but after a few hours she started to bounce around and act like a puppy. How ever she is peeing non stop. We take her outside and she goes...10 minutes later she goes again on the floor so it is back outside...and she goes...then again inside. I am finding my self constantly walking behind her to try to snatch her up before she goes. I miss a lot. Any suggestions?

Aw, congratulations on bringing Lily home, it sounds as though she's settling in well ☺. It is crazy how often they seem to pee in the early days. Are you planning on having her checked out by your vet? It was recommended to us so we had Ella checked over a couple of days after we got her just to make sure everything was looking ok, book in for the next lot of vaccinations, have Ella meet the vet etc. (and any major health issues would be deemed the responsibility of the breeder - as per the contract we signed when we bought Ella). It might be worth mentioning Lily's pee habits to the vet so that they can double check to make sure there is no urinary tract infection and that it's just normal toilet training issues ☺.

As for toilet training, I know there are a lot more experienced members than me that will be along soon and can give you some good advice. If it's any help though, we made some mistakes in our training and went the long way around but we still got there in the end so you will get there too ☺☺

Good luck and enjoy having Lily at home

Hi there and welcome to the Forum, congratulations on Lily's arrival to your home.
Puppies do wee very frequently, they can't hold much at all at first. Our dog was 5 months and is our first dog when he came to us So I haven't got first hand experience of the stage you are at now.
I'd really recommend you get hold of a copy of The Happy Puppy Handbook,It's brilliant and Pippa gives you a really straightforward way to get house training underway and lots of tips to assist you.And also help you to organise the night times when you will either need to be getting up for her or sorting out an arrangement in the house where she has a place to go that won't impede your progress.
Have a look at this link from the main site...

Like Emily says I would mention it to your vet at her checkup when you take her just to make sure there are no underlying health problems and then it is really just a case of patience, vigilance and perseverance.
    Good luck

We went through this after bringing Jake home. He was at the vet the next day to get checked by the vet anyway, he wasn't concerned and said some puppies can drink quite a lot. We started taking him out every time he drank anything, this could be every 15 minutes to begin with. Now at 12 weeks we're out roughly every 30 minutes while he's active, but if he's cuddled on the couch relaxing he can hold for up to an hour and a half.

Do you have a puppy pen? This saves you having to wander about after them. It sounds as though she's got a little too much freedom.

But congratz on bringing her home, it's so tiring but very worth it :)

She does have a puppy pen and doesn't mind going in. She does it a lot to escape the older one. She is headed to the vet soon to establish a file and get her third round of shots.
