So annoyed with pets at home and with myself. As I posted over a week ago I was advised by a lady in Pet's at home to change Rolo's food from eukanuba to wainwrights or James wellbeloved but more wainwrights so I did. All going well sloppy poops but lots of other stuff going also. I have nearly ran out (one day I will be organised) so have called a pet shop and they don't sell it as it's pets at home's own brand. So mad. Why didn't she tell me this. My pets at home is about 40 mins away so not local but I could be more organised and buy plenty. Why oh why didn't I go for James wellbeloved that is widely available? Advice please I can't wean him onto something new again can I?
Re: Not a happy bunny It is frustrating when you run out : I've done it a few times. You could change, but personally I made myself be more organised rather than risk upset tums again
Re: Not a happy bunny I expect others do it too, but Burns has a very good on-line shop that usually delivers the goods the next working day and it's all packed in a waterproof wrapper so if you are out they will leave at the front door for you. I pretty nearly always buy from them these days. (Assume you are in UK?)
Re: Not a happy bunny Yes Wainwrights is pets at home so that's probably why they were pushing you so hard to try that brand. Sadly most retailers are only interested in the money. I would take anything their employees take with a pinch of salt as I have heard of many people being given horrifically wrong advice. Anyway, you would probably be ok to feed chicken and rice for a couple of days until you can go and get some more wainwrights - enough to tide you over until you decide if you're going to stick or try another brand. If I were you though I would be inclined to go for something that was more easily available for me.
Re: Not a happy bunny I buy my James Wellbeloved in 15kg sacks on line. It is available from many web-sites and is much more economical in the large sacks.
Re: Not a happy bunny I did the 40 minute journey and bought more. With the abx and the new food I didn't think it would be fair to change him again. I do intend in the future to go onto the James Wellbeloved. His poops do seem firmer today surely that must be a coincidence he has only had 2 halfs of his abx.
