Re: Not good Ah, she looks a right little sweetie there. She's doing the right thing, sleeping will help her a lot.
Re: Not good Hope Harley is continuing to improve and that by tomorrow you are finding it hard to keep her quiet. Good luck. Alice
Re: Not good We have so far had a very sleepy day. She has woke up a few times and has eaten a small breakfast and some lunch. She has been into the garden twice, done her business, then had a slow stroll around the grass. She seems to be crying and groaning less which is good Thank you all for all of your support and for reminding me that I did do everything I could Her scar isn't as bad as I thought it would be, especially seeing as though the vet said it's larger than normal due to the added complication of the hernia! Harley's scar by ternayacummings, on Flickr We have a check up with the vet in the morning and hopefully they will be happy with her
Re: Not good That looks quite neat! A regular Spey wound would normally be about 3-4 inches I think so hers doesn't look too bad. In a few weeks you won't even be able to tell it was there!
Re: Not good Poor Harley and poor you Naya. We had a power cut yesterday is I've only just seen this. I read the first page then skipped straight to page 6 to find out what happened. So pleased she is home and doing well. She will be back to normal in a few days and you will be worrying about how to keep her calm because of her stitches. Look forward to that because then you will know she is better.
Re: Not good i have only just seen this really sorry to hear this and hope all turns out ok i was so touched by all the good thoughts of people on here for milly
Re: Not good Oh my goodness, I'm just seeing this. I'm so glad that you caught it on time! Wishing her a speedy recovery.
Re: Not good Ruth and I are very relieved that it went well. If Harley is like Holly the scar will disappear in a few months. Please keep us posted on progress, we'd like to know that Holly's playmate is OK.
Re: Not good Benson is so relieved that Harley is doing well, he promises to be very gentle next time they meet (he has asked me to buy Harley a special ball..)..and in the meantime he will send across some handsome photos of himself to cheer her up! ;D Ternaya I hope you can relax a bit now, and look after yourself, you have done such an amazing job spotting something was wrong, think it was only a week ago we met up? I remember commenting how well she looked!
Re: Not good Onlynjust seen this, somglad Harley is ok!! Our old boy Max had an anaesthetic last year for an xray and he was out of sorts for 48 hours afterwards, the first 24 hours he just cried and groaned and was v agitated, and he didn't have any treatment, so she may have been crying from that rather than being in painor discomfort. They are very resilient, and scars heal really well, especially on the tummy - other than 1 tiny bump we could never tell Lizzie had been spayed as the scar healed so well. Hope she makes a rapid recovery, and well done on getting her sorted out, you really did save her life because you noticed a tiny change in her. Keep us posted on her progress x
Re: Not good My turn to sleep downstairs with Harley tonight (hubby has to be up at 5.30am and Oj needs to work tomorrow too). I'm hoping she is more restful than last night. She was awake for about 2 hours tonight and wanted fussing from everyone. My friend popped in and Harley wagged her tail for the first time today Harley is looking forward to playing with Holly, Pongo, Benson and Penny very soon (hopefully she will be completely healed by Sep 7th for the Blaise Castle meet if anyone is still up for it?)
Re: Not good I do hope you have a better night. I agree you should congratulate yourself for knowing something wasn't right. I was staggered at Heidrun's account of her spaniel that worked all day and didn't show any signs until her discharge started in the evening (n Pippa's post). Really hoping things are more back to normal tomorrow xx
Re: Not good Pongo is just on his way to bed but asked me to send a Very Very Gentle lick to Harley, and he says sleep well both of you...
Re: Not good have you been given metacam for the pain relief it works very well milly was bouncing around one day after her op on her kidney its hard to keep them quiet but time goes quickly i will certainly keep an eye on milly as she can not be spayed it might make her incontinent again
Re: Not good I will be accompanied by the handsome Benson on the 7th... We are also looking into setting up a scurry and agility course in our wildlife area if anyone is interested? It will be a semi permanent fixture and enclosed
