can someone tell me if a trainer is advertising as a gundog trainer does that mean they would do basic obedience for people who do not intend to use a dog for shooting purposes i need help with heel work mainly
Re: obedience training It really depends on the trainer. Some gundog trainers do not take on pet dogs. Most however, do. The only way to find out is to contact them.
Re: obedience training I`ve just started working with a Gundog trainer in Sussex and whilst I only shoot clays I want a dog that I can also partake in field trials with in the future if I choose. She was happy to take me on after I had explained the situation, even if I never trial Murphy at least I`ll have an obedient dog with a full set of basic skills. As Pippa said talk to the trainer first, I spoke to a couple of different trainers and they were both willing to take me on, I chose the one that I felt comfortable with.
Re: obedience training i dont know if you are able to give me this trainers name on here i am in sussex maybe near to who you are using
