Oh poor Obi. But he looks very beautiful being tragic. And the drip bag is very on trend. La mode médicale was a BIG theme at London this year (tell him....).
Obi is pleased and relieved that he's still at the forefront of fashion. He wants to know what you think of the cling wrap. The cling wrap was a success! We walked round the block (more likely to pee in public than on home turf) and he was happy to perform the full range of ablutions. The he got excited about being outside and did some sustained bum-tucking on-lead. The cling wrap suffered a bit from this treatment but I think I just ended to improve my wrapping technique. The main thing is that his bandage stayed dry. Hooray! Thanks for the tip, Jen
A very successful smart-casual, Obi. Looks "carefree" compared to the formality of the drip bag. Good for evenings and weekends. Glad the trip round the block generated the necessary....
Poor Obi but the pics of him in protest in the field made me chuckle. Murphy once had to wear the drip bag on his leg when he sliced his pad open and it was all bandaged. when we first put it on him it was as if he had broken his leg he wouldn't put any weight on it! But with some coaxing he was fine once he realised he could still walk fine. The only thing was the flappy scrapy noise it made on the pavements, I'd get funny looks from people over their fences who couldn't see where it was coming from. I'd forgotten about this until now so thank you for bringing back an amusing memory of Murphy
Very good, Julie, Obi has decided to reserve the drip bag for more formal occasions. He mentioned that he'd be open to trying aluminium foil (for weddings and parties etc.). Frankie, I'm glad it reminded you of a funny time The drip bag is most definitely flappy and scrapey! I think Obi would get used to it like Murphy though, given time. How long did Murphy's foot take to heal up and how long did you have to keep protection on it? Obi says thanks for the hugs and licks, Marie and Ziva
Ah poor Obi,the trials!glad the cling film has worked though, think we've all picked d a good tip up there x
So glad the cling film worked. . Much neater and smarter than a flapping bag eh obi. How long does the bandage have to stay on for Rachael ?
I think that he's growing to like it and feels quite the trend setter; his face looks less indignant with each photo. Hope he's better soon.
He's definitely getting into the plastic-wrapped look. Jen, we go back to the vet this afternoon for a look-see. We haven't taken the bandage off ourselves as it's a multi-layered, heavy duty affair. I expect he'll have a new bandage on for a while after that still, even if it's looking good. I'll post an update
Oh Obi ! I'm impressed with how clean and dry you chicken pen is. I was only thinking Rachael when the vet thinks the bandage can come off but then tells you to keep his paw clean and dry, like they do, you could put a sock on then the cling film sock for outdoor wear and just a sock for indoor when you can't keep an eye on him if he's likely to lick it. When your with him no sock so air can get to the wound. Incase you can't tell I've delt with a fair few paw wounds in my time.
