Re: off lead places Do you have a more specific idea of where on the West? There are lots of great beaches the further north you go, many of which are pretty empty and some have no road access which is even better ;D Sandwood Bay is amazing if you are heading to the very far north. About 4 miles' walk across moorland with a huge stunning beach at the end of it. The path is across croft land and there may be sheep around, so you have to be vigilant (lead and/or good recall!)
