Hope Moo and you can get a couple of hours sleep at least and the Vet can resolve this quickly tomorrow/today.
Moos woo is old so we've got some tablets to help shine it up a bit. She also has a SLO nail bed infection so we have some anti biotics for that but she's lost over a kilo and kidneys are working well. She had 2 bus rides and a visit to a different park and is feeling perky despite the butt probe
Was just wondering if there was any news, that's great she has enjoyed her outing despite the investigation. I hope the tablets do the trick for her.
How is Lilly doing today? I leave at least a week between vaccinations, worming treatments, and any flea/tick treatments since one of my dogs had a very adverse reaction years ago. He was generally fine with any of those things, but not if they were administered closely together.
Thanks, Coped well with our long walk. Lots of air peeing but otherwise fine. I wonder whether she just isn't drinking enough. I would normally spread out treatments too but since I am at home this week (well adds up to 10 days) I thought I would go for it, sometimes she is sick or a bit loose after the wormers in particular, so good to be around and clear up if needed. Not too worried, just odd......
Oh dear poor Moo, fingers crossed Moo continues to improve. Fingers crossed you get a good nights sleep.
Glad Moo is on the up and had a nice time out yesterday (apart from Vet). I did have to look up SLO nail as had no idea. I just thought it was a spelling mistake and should have been slow nail... Learn something new everyday
It's a nasty auto immune problem some dogs get it very mildly like Moo and some get it very badly like her half brother Doug. For Doug it was part of his bigger auto immune problem
@SwampDonkey Yep I decided to read up on it. Does not look nice and sounds painfull. But does look like certain medication helps, but you can't stop that once commenced. Hopefully it is manageable with Moo (sure it is) and it does not cause her to much discomfort.
Having had Doug suffer from it from the age of 6 me and my vet knew immediately what to do she developed it at 13. She has it mildly so it just fish oil and biotin mostly, with the occasional course of anti biotics. She can't tolerate steriods but fortunately shes not needed them so far. it's incredibly painful and horrible when it's really bad your dogs feet are just rotting off. For Doug it was just terrible.many vets have never seen it and its hard to get treatment initially because they don't have a clue. Once my vet sorted out Doug he was much better but had constant flare ups. he had a good life but it was a very difficult one.
