Tatze has eaten her harness

We had unexpected visitors so I popped her in the crate as the twins are only 9 months old a Tatze is a bit big and bouncy for them.

She still had her harness on.

    She ate it. :'(

I phoned the vets and I'm waiting for them to ring back.

She has never before eaten anything that's not food.

80% of the webbing and three metal rings :-\

The vet has said to feed her little and often and hope it passes through, to watch her carefully for any signs of lethargy or pain.

    :( :-\

I suppose that's all you can do, not very comforting for you though. I hope she will be OK. Keep us posted and hopefully the harness will reappear xx :(

    Hi Mags,

Sorry to hear about the inappropriate eating.

Harvey once ripped all of the stuffing out of his crate bedding. It looked like a scene from a Christmas display with white stuffing everywhere! We assumed this meant that he hadn't eaten any - we were wrong ::) Sometime later he vomited up a little gift for us to inspect - a lovely mix of food and bedding. Hopefully Tatze will do the same.

Really sorry to hear that Mags, fingers crossed for you that she either brings it back up, or that it passes through. Some years ago I had a young lab that would eat all kinds of things, clothing, plastic etc, and everything always came out the other end eventually. I know what a worry it can be though. :(

    Thank you all.

No news yet. The vet said small meals, which she has eaten no problems.

She's her usual bouncy self too.

    ???

Oh no :(. Hopefully it will just re appear. Brodick surprassed himself at xmas by eating a CD. Before that he had scoffed various soft items...all passed through uneventfully!

Oh dear, you poor thing. What they manage to pass through their systems is quite amazing... I hope it all comes through just fine. I'm sure we're all keeping an eye on this thread and waiting for that harness to see the light of day again!

It's coming through - hurrah! There were two bits of harness in her morning poo. She is normal in every other way apart from being full of harness!

I'm giving her four small meals today to keep things moving.

She didn't cry at all in the night but I kept dreaming she was crying then getting up to see to her. She just looked at me as if to say 'what's up Mum?' and went back to sleep, bless her little harness eating socks!
