Well we've arrived home after our week in the Lake District, and what fun Juno has had. We've enjoyed numerous walks along lakes, becks and up and down numerous hillsides. Juno has sat and ignored other dogs in the pub, even when they have whined or pulled towards her. Learnt to walk loose lead beside me even when people are calling her or reaching towards her to stroke her. She won over a small boy who cried when we first walked past, around 10 feet away from him and Juno wasn't at all interested. Then he saw her jumping into Elterwater and swimming, retrieving and having a few hoolies with her dummy and he ended laughing at her antics while his dad held him up so he could see her in the water better. They left just before us but we passed the little boy on his bike, as we walked to the village, and got big smiles as we walked past. We've seen lots of sheep and lambs and can walk past them on a loose lead, even when they cross the footpath just in front of us oh and can also ignore chickens scratching around underneath the benches outside the pub a few feet from her nose but I think that may be more due to being hot and tired Oh and we enjoyed some time just chilling in the sun in the garden, before going for a late afternoon paddle in the stream at the end of the garden. Juno sitting enjoying the sun in the garden Enjoying a paddle in the stream at the bottom of the garden Chilling in the sun and the view from the patio
What a lovely place! Sounds as though you had a great time and were very lucky with the weather going by those lovely photos.
Lovely photos Rosemary , well done to Juno for being sooooooooo good , sounds idyllic, glad you had a good time
I loved the Lake District, sounds as if you had an idyllic time with a very happy and well behaved Juno.
Well I wouldn't go that far - she was very keen to meet and greet dogs at times but nothing that some sausage or cold beef burger didn't solve It was people who were the worst problem stretching to touch her as they passed. One guy, while crossing the meadow with the sheep yesterday, actually had the audacity to call her and try to get her to go to him. If I wasn't such a calm, relaxed, nice person I might have felt like going and hitting him , but then we meet a lovely couple as we strolled through the wood at the bottom of the garden so Juno could play in the stream. We saw them approaching on the footpath so we called Juno to us and clipped on her lead, they thanked us effusively and then politely asked if they could say hello to Juno, so they had great fun fussing a wet dog, but at least she didn't shake over them . If only all people were as thoughtful.
Looks fantastic . Glad you have a great trip. Can't say the weather was as nice when I last went to the Lake District. Maybe that's because we went in December...
A small downside was that dogs had to be kept on lead in the shared garden area, but a bonus for us was that our property had a dog friendly private field to play in
Just can't believe that last week we were sitting in the garden in the sun with not a jacket or jumper in sight and sitting outside the pub for lunch or a post walk drink. I've got some lovely photos of Juno swimming on my new camera, just need to work out how to download them and how the wifi function works. I might find time today it tomorrow
Does the camera have a memory card, I find it easier to put that into my laptop. Mind you, my camera doesn't have wifi
Yes it does, but I think I would prefer to get the photos to my tablet so can either plug the camera directly in or try and workout the wifi bit. I just won't be able to edit the photos that way. Alternative is to load the discs on my clunky laptop and download the photos and can then edit as well
