    OH has crept into my everyday writen and spoken language....can't help it...such a handy term. I dislike the term "partner" but OH covers a multitude of combinations!

    I'm with you....

    I'm not married to my OH. So how do I refer to him?

    My "boyfriend"? Nah, we've been together 25 years, "boyfriend" sounds so, well, trivial.

    My "husband" and don't explain? Then everyone wonders why I have no ring, and it looks like I'm lying about being married, because I really want to be married - everyone woman does, right? :rolleyes:

    My "partner" - I think (unfortunately) people wonder whether I'm trying not to say my partner is a woman. How horrid is that? That people think I might want to hide the fact.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    You guys are too funny!! but now at least I know what OH means. Julie, now another silly question from me....where do you get those funny little faces you add to your text. I just love them.....
    Also, congrats for being together with ANYONE for 25 years!!! Yes, I think people look at you funny if you say "partner" which is very sad in this day and age.....I call Cooper (my pup) my partner!! but everyone knows he is my doggie......

    Overly Hen-pecked ... Often Harangued ... ;)

    The 'funny little faces' are called emoticons and you can access them by pressing the smiley face button (if you hover the mouse pointer over it it will say 'Add smilies'). And if you hover the pointer over each of the smilies it will show you how you can type them directly. Eg you could just type a colon followed by a closing bracket to give ... :)

    When you go to type your reply (in the box at the bottom of the thread)....see at the top of the box you are typing in, on the right hand side, there are three symbols.

    One is a paperclip - ignore this one.
    One looks like a big capital, bold, underlined A - if you click this one, a formatting tool bar appears
    The final one is a smiling face - if you click this one, a smiley tool bar appears, and you click on the smiley to insert the smiles....:D:D:D

    Try a colon and then the letter "p" :p
    (You can find the necessary text by hovering the mouse pointer over the desired smiley after choosing the Add Smilies button)
