Re: OMG! OMG! A neighbour had one of those crosses, looked exactly like a Lab, behaved like a spaniel and was off into the far distance after rabbits at every opportunity, took a lot of training!
Re: OMG! OMG! Such a cross would probably not come from health tested parents and I believe that is very high up on Julie's criteria for choosing a puppy.
Re: OMG! OMG! Not always a guarantee though as we have seen with many dogs/puppies from health tested parents

Re: OMG! OMG! I was told by the 'expert' gundog breeders that it is best to get a 2nd dog when the first is between 3 and 5. It is then trained and thoroughly bonded. Some notice I took ! ;D
Re: OMG! OMG! Beautiful little chocolate cocker called Lucy at training today. If you'd been there Julie she's have been in your handbag and gone ;D lovely little dog! And health testing definitely gets my vote

Re: OMG! OMG! I want to tell you this - tonight, OH has just announced that he thinks we should call the chocolate cocker spaniel pup that he wants Clara. Ok, I wanted Lyra, but hey.... How good am I? ;D ;D ;D
Re: OMG! OMG! Let him have Clara and any other name he wants. I love the name Clara, very classy. You are good girl, real good I like your style ;D ;D When we discussed getting a dog David was anti a big one, so I started off with lets get a Great Dane and then worked my way down to Hattie, worked a treat

Re: OMG! OMG!
... and then when Clara has a daughter, she can be called Lyra. Clara
;D ;D
Re: OMG! OMG!
I think you are both very calculating , I wouldnt dream of thinking along these lines
A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do ;D ;D
Re: OMG! OMG!
You know..... Clara...Lyra....Clara....Lyra.....not a lot of difference
I'm not quibbling. One is from the Dark Materials which OH has never read : : : - outrage. The other is the Doctor's companion - happened to be playing at the exact time OH came up with the "original" idea of Clara. Misjudged that one...never mind. I got used to Charlie soon enough. (My unvoiced choice was Jack - Charlie turned out to be Charlie though).
Re: OMG! OMG! You could always say that people on the Labrador Site have advised you that the dogs will get confused as 'Charlie' and 'Clara' sound too similar. Also, if he got to choose the first name, surely it is now your turn? Just tryin' to help
