Re: ON HEAT
Think she's got a little Miley in her.....
Haha!!! ;D More seriously - most of the spotting has now stopped, but it has changed again in colour and consistency. Now, at day 17 (approximately) there are fewer spots, but of dark red, viscous blood. Does this sound normal??
Re: ON HEAT Thats how Millie was Karen , the loss turned watery and then came back red at around that time too and she then spotted red blood right until day 22ish x
Re: ON HEAT Interesting. The spotting stopped yesterday, at what I take to be day 18. The entire male whippet sniffed Pops through the gate today, and didn't seem very interested. While I'm still being careful, it does seem as though this is the end phase of her season - which makes me wonder if she started earlier than I realized. My sister asked me whether she was on heat, two days before we spotted any blood. At the time I didn't think so, but now I feel maybe she was right.
Re: ON HEAT Karen, my Alice is also at day 18 of her season today. The last two days have been interesting in our household, Ziggy is an entire male. Luckily I have got a kennel outside and plenty of space in the house to make sure they are kept well apart from each other. Not long to go now.
Re: ON HEAT Ah Heidrun, I was wondering how you managed with your two girls and Ziggy and Murffi! The first time Poppy came into heat I had to ship poor old Bones out for the duration... Is there a lot of lovelorn howling???
Re: ON HEAT None at all from Ziggy. He is a man of the world being a stud dog but I think he likes curvy clumber girls and not lean springers.. 8) Alice is much more willing than he is.
Re: ON HEAT Oh bless Alice, poor girl! Have you ever been tempted to breed from her? She's beautiful, so elegant
Re: ON HEAT She would have been a great mum, Alice adores puppies. If I had bred from one of my springers it would have been from Caddie. So many of my friends wanted a puppy from her and I would have kept one myself, but sadly it wasn't going to be. :'(
Re: ON HEAT That is indeed a sadness, Heidrun. But Caddie is healthy and well, and that is the most important thing.
Re: ON HEAT Yes, I remember how terribly disappointed you were when you found you wouldn't get pups from Caddie :'( xxx
