I have booked a one-to-one session with Annie Buckley of Scovellsway Training in Winchester for next Friday. I hope she's upto the challenge ;) If all goes well I will book more individual sessions and go from there. Fingers and paws crossed please, we'll need it!! ;) Helen x

Thank you everyone. I feel excited about it, but I will be nervous over the next week waiting for Friday 8th to arrive!! I am sure Charlie will love it, Annie said it is better to work with his instincts and drive but in a controlled manner! ;) I feel Charlie has really calmed down, and responsive to training, so now is his time to really learn - I hope!! watch this space!! Helen x

Brilliant Helen, good for you! How lucky Charlie is to have found you, so many would have given up months ago and re-homed him (yet again). I really feel your new trainer is right - work to use his instincts and keep him focused and interested! Good luck and am really looking forward to hearing how it goes!

Hi Helen, I hope it goes well too. I took Lady for some one-to-one sessions with a gundog trainer as well when I was struggling a bit. Very helpful. A second view can be very useful. Good fun too without competition or distraction from other dogs.

You will have a great time. Annie is an excellent trainer and a very nice lady too. I've been to her a couple of times, but sadly it's too far for me really.
It will be time and money well spent.

Thank you David, I am sure it will be helpful and fun now that Charlie is in a good place to learn and certainly without the doggie distractions too!! ;D

Gill it's lovely to have your input as you have been to see Annie and a relief that she's lovely. Thank you Helen x

Good luck with the training today Helen! Hope the rain doesn't mean it is cancelled.

We are back on for our training tomorrow as well - substitute trainer has been found while our original trainer is busy looking after her orphaned pups.
