A year ago today we lost our gorgeous black lab boy Max (Monkey Nuts as we called him :D), aged just 11yr 7months. He had lung cancer and it became too much for him so we had to say goodbye. It was one of the saddest days of my life and i wondered how we would get through it. We had our old girl Lizzie still with us which really helped, then we lost her 6 months later....such a hole they left in our home and lives that we got our two bundles of joy and mischief Jack & Barney a few weeks later.

They will be 7 months old next week and are an absolute delight, so well behaved, well trained and so loving. It has certainly helped with the healing process, but the last week has been tough, knowing today was approaching and thinking back to this time last year. I have had lots of extra cuddles with my boys, and I cherish every day with them.

This is a picture of Max, doing his party trick of sitting up and begging for a cup of tea - which he was addicted to and seems to have passed on to our two new arrivals lol

So sorry for the loss of your boy Max, sending hugs to you, it is nearly approching a year since we lost our 18year old cat it was the worst day but we knew it was the best thing for her, and then 3 months later our bundle of joy in the name of Buster came it was the best thing that has happened to us i still think of her a lot and miss her, but Buster has brought so much joy into my life.

Max was beautiful! And he looks much to dignified to be called Monkey :)

Our pets don't live long enough, that is the sad truth of it all. But i suppose the up-side is that we get the opportunity to have many more passing through our lives than we would have. And think of the reunion we will get on the other side of the Bridge!

Hugs to you, enjoy your lovely pups and the memories of your lovely Max!

What a beautiful boy. You never stop missing them - but at the same time they're never far away....

Love to you all that have lost your beloved Labradors. We lost Harvey aged 5, nineteen months ago. He had a huge blood clot in his heart. He is buried in our garden as we couldn't bear to be parted from him. It's taken a long time but next week we collect a beautiful little chocolate lab. Can't wait. Xx

He looked a very dear dog, it is heartbreaking when they go.

Also sorry to read about Harvey who was far too young to depart this life.

Both dogs very much loved and missed xx

It is so difficult when we lose our lovely labs. No one who doesn't have dogs can understand the sadness. Max was gorgeous.

I am very sorry to hear about Harvey too, 5 years is far too young.
