Re: Operation Simba Total Recall Sounds like Simba is really getting the 'staying close to you' thing. But I am very sorry to hear about your earring, and hope it and you are reunited.
Re: Operation Simba Total Recall Can empathise with the lost earing :'( I lost a diamond one, probably in a restaurant car park and even now, almost a year later, I scour the ground, just in case! I keep a spare whistle in the car and in my game bag
Re: Operation Simba Total Recall WE FOUND IT!!!! ;D ;D NOT in the dog park....hubby was sweeping in the kitchen and there it was!! Woot woot!! Getting back to the recall...not making much progress at the moment. I need to do the proofing exercises (inside) which involve recall away from people. It's a bit difficult to find the right space in my house to do this, I need to do some thinking about it. I just need to get myself going on this- ack, I'm annoyed at myself that it seems so hard to keep at it! Part of the problem is getting everything ready to start - the pre planning part, like cooking some chicken for jackpot treats. Somehow this doesn't get on the agenda, and then when I have the time/personnel to do it, well, nope, no special treats ready. I dunno, it's really stupid but I get hung up there so often. So. TODAY I'm going to do some, it's the weekend, I have people home to help me. So there!!
Re: Operation Simba Total Recall So glad you found your earing If you forget to cook the chicken Lisa just go for some smelly pre cooked sausage which will be just as good. Glad you have some people to help you, let us know how you get on x
Re: Operation Simba Total Recall Really pleased the earring is found, good luck with your weekend training x
Re: Operation Simba Total Recall So pleased you found your earring! Good luck with the training, sausage, dried liver or cat food pouches are my no effort jackpot treats
Re: Operation Simba Total Recall So, I found one field that hasn't been plowed under close by, so I took him out there with the whistle and decided to see how well we'd do in a "real world" situation, with no fences... Let him off lead... ...he trotted out ahead, stopped and looked back (the result of the throw-the-treat game), I blew the whistle, he came barreling back. I let him get further away, he was running away from me this time, I whistled, he turned on a dine and came back so fast he just about knocked me over! ;D Tried a few more times...a couple of them he stopped, but just looked at me, I had to start running backwards, etc. But on all of them he came back without too much extra effort on my part, so I was very happy! ;D
Re: Operation Simba Total Recall Well look at that!well done!you must feel brilliant, there is nothing like it when they come charging back to you ,it gives you such a boost.big cheer Lisa and big pat Simba x
