I am reading total recall, and have started to put it into practice with Otis. He is recalling to three pips on the whistle, but not every time, we practice, or proof it, by walking around the park, was really pleased and got a bit of a scare, when he walked around some cars, and was nearly in the way of traffic, but three pips on the whistle brought him back. I have a borrow my doggy, person walking him for the second time tommorow, and am going to tell them that he is to recall to the whistle, will feed Otis half his breakfast, and give them some garlic sausage and roast chicken I have bought for this purpose. Otherwise , Otis is really well, chewing away daily, latest casualty my prescription glasses, that he had his eye on for quite awhile. I have bought some frozen marrow bones, to try and get him to chew appropriately. He is a joy xx
Re: Otis and total recall Hi Maggie, can dogs have garlic? Sounds like your training is well and truely under way - good luck with it and well done!
Re: Otis and total recall Hi, well I took Otis to puppy classes, they had garlic flavoured treats there, he has come to no harm , however garlic I think is part of the onion family and onions are not good. It may be a case of quantity, garlic flavouring okay, but not a bulb of garlic. Otis has eaten the odd grape too, but grapes and raisins are not good for them, again could be a case of quantitiy. Maybe someone with more knowledge could help X
Re: Otis and total recall Hi Maggie! Do you have any up to date pics of your lovely boy? You will need to make sure your borrow my doggy walker has thorough instructions on the whistle use - need to keep things consistent if you are hoping for them to use it I am sure they won't mind.
