Hi, Well I came downstairs to the most enormous pile of poo from Otis this morning, and beside it a tiny bit of blood. Im thinking it was because it was such a big amount. He is at the vets this afternoon for his first vac, so will tell them about it, I don't think its anything serious because he is well, playing chewing (a lot of chewing, especialy my hands !) eating drinking. I hope he is okay, bit of a worry. He dosent have diahrreah, although his poo is softish. Was contacted about puppy training which we start in August after his vacs have all been done, looking forward to training him. Thanks, Maggie
Re: Otis Poor Otis. Hope he is ok. Do let us know. I cant remember Maggie - was it Otis had the roundworm?? Perhaps it's still something to do with that?
Re: Otis Hi Yes it was roundworm that Otis had, although he has been wormed now, by the vet , (Frontline). Will let you know what the vet says, thanks, Maggie
Re: Otis Was it also Otis where the vet wasn't impressed with the food he was getting and advised swapping to a different brand??? If you changed his food, this can have quite a dramatic effect, poo-wise!
Re: Otis I can vouch for that! Food made a big difference to us,I had 2 months of dreadfully soft poo.......let us know what the vet says ,cuddle to Otis, sorry your day starting with a stinky gift...good job he's cute hey! X
Re: Otis Hi, I will ask the vet about his food, at the moment he is on what the breeder was giving him, which is beta purina puppy food. Did do the chicken and rice thing for three days to get rid of his diahrroeah. So he now just does fairly soft poo, and quite a lot of it ! Will let you know how we get on at the vets. Thanks, Maggie
Re: Otis Well I took Otis to the vets who were very good. They said that the little bit of blood in his poo was due to straining. That the yucky worm in his sick, was due to an overload of worms (YUCK YUCK) but he had stronghold last week, and they gave me a worming tablet for him to put in his food. The vet said he was in good health, and gave him his first vac ! I was really pleased with the vets, PDSA, they were so thoughrer and very nice. Otis was calm, and got lots of fuss made of him. Great for socialising him as there were lots of dogs and children there. Maggie
