Hi all, I’m new to this, came across this forum today while trying to find ways to cope with my bereavement. This morning we lost our beloved white lab Glen. He was 14 years old (a good age) and had been battling his arthritis for a number of years. It got to the point where he lost the ability to walk, however the last couple of days he had been quite happy getting lots of cuddles and lazing about in the garden. Last night Glen had a seizure, we took him to the vets who wanted to keep him in over night. Turns out Glen had bleeding to the brain, and the vets advised us it was time. He was sedated and peaceful so did not experience much discomfort. Glen was the most loving, funny, precious dog anyone could ask for. He was just bursting with love and anybody who got to know him would see this and return the love back - he was loved so much and by so many. I can’t imagine how my life would’ve been without Glen, I am so glad my mum and dad introduced a dog into mine and my older brothers lives when we were young children. He has taught us many things and brought so much joy to our lives. Every birthday, Christmas, good times and bad were shared with Glen and I wouldn’t of had it any other way. I will miss being able to cuddle you Glen when I just want someone to listen, not judge just love. I will miss you making me laugh and smile, I will miss everything about you. Sleep tight my gorgeous boy, you will forever be loved...
Ahhh so sorry you have lost your boy. Sounds like you had a wonderful time together and a great dog. It’s soooo sad when they go, they just don’t live long enough. Take care .
I'm so sorry. It's heartbreaking when we have to let them go. I hope all your happy memories of Glen bring you comfort.
