I made her sit while I walked and dropped her toy, then walked back to her, then released her to find it. Is that the start of her liking retrieving? She is now flat out in her rug.

Sounds like positive interest to me......I drop a toy behind me and say ...find it...Will I have a gun dog that reverses...not retrieves ? : :-[

Sounds like a good game to play, Jade :)

Another good game to develop 'nose skills' is to hide little bits of treat around the house and encourage her to find them.

Angela - you will have to call Dexter a 'Labrador Reverser'.
