Anyone with any experience of having Panosteitis in their Labrador puppy? Currently waiting to see an Orthopaedic expert here in France after X-rays on Juno following the second instance of her limping.

Thank you for your kind comments. I hadn't heard of it until today when I stumbled upon a reference to it in a breed profile on a website and googled it. Our vet here in France was concerned when Juno had the second occurrence of limping with no apparent physical cause, the first when she was only 5.5 months old. Juno was X-rayed and she could see nothing of concern but sent them straight to an expert who came back that he could see something on the X-rays so we are waiting for an appointment to see him. Panosteitis seems to cover her symptoms apart from temperature etc. as she doesn't appear ill with the limp and doesn't even complain that it hurts.

I have heard of it and also had a friend whose young dog suffered from it, it does resolve itself in the end, almost like 'growing pains' from what I can remember.

Yes! We have an appointment with the Specialist from Friday afternoon. Just to nee to make my dictionary in case we have any language problems although I've been assured that he speaks English. We don't have a problem at the vets as our lovely vet speaks fluent English, as do many vets here in France.
