    The upside is that he'll probably be brilliant at learning complex tricks in response to one cue - especially if you clicker train/back chain

    "fixing a concept"? - I remember with my latest puppy, she learnt "sit" and "down" OK kindof on cue but it was only when she learnt "bravo" a bow (a position which she offered so often that I could capture) and we "drilled" between the different cues that I felt she understood the concept of a verbal cue ie a particular word/sound = a particular action = a reward - then she seemed to be much more switched on to learn other verbal cues. Is that what you mean?

    going back to using the anticipation - I was wondering if you could train hunt (in your handy bunkers !) for x mins followed always by a recall (start up nice and close). I though maybe if Charlie had a hunt hunt recall chain imbedded in him (??) then you might find it easier to recall from a hunt situation because he would be expecting it (anticipating it?). Might be a useful groove?
