Harley has sliced the skiing between her paws really badly :(. It's the bit of skin under the hair inbetween her pads. We think she cut it in the stream as I noticed blood on the floor just as we walked away from her playing in there. Been to the vets. They said because of where it is they don't think staples will hold, so have covered it in manuka honey and bandaged it all up. I have to take the bandage off on Sunday, reapply manuka honey and re-bandage. Back to the vets next Tuesday. She's not allowed to run around or go in water so only very, very short lead walks as it may split more. We had lots of fun adventurous walks planned for the long weekend, but have had to change our plans :(. She's feeling very sorry for herself and keeps holding her bandaged paw up to me. Lots of snuggled this weekend I think.

Oh poor Harley - what a shame, especially in this hot weather. Fingers crossed for rapid healing.

Oh HARLEY! You poor, poor girl!
Pongo says he wants to go and BITE the horrid bit of stream that hurt his girlfriend and he wants to come and look after you and play gentle bitey-face and he will fetch balls for you so you don't have to run and and and and....

Tummy rubs from me and Paul and huge huge (gentle) licks from Pongers

Oh dear, how rotten! Hope it heals with no issues along the way. No cone? There's no way I could stop Simba trying to get at a honey-smeared foot....;)

Harley says thank you Pongers and she looks forward to running around with you again very soon, but wants her paw healed so she can chase him around and around the table again :D

Luckily the paw is bandaged or I think she would be trying to lick it constantly!

    That's no good.... Poor girl.

Obi has had a cut in the same place. We eventually needed to go with a cone and no bandage as it just stayed too moist under the bandage and wasn't healing. Feet are tricky...

Poor Harley - get well soon! I hope the manuka works its magic. It really helped Tuppence's cut leg to heal a while ago. Meanwhile, enjoy the snuggles!

These paw injuries seem a real nuisance, I hope that Harley's heals fast. Had no idea that Manuka was used by vets, it's blinking expensive here in its land of origin - I dole it out very sparingly on my toast.

I bought a jar of the medicinal stuff and it cost me $50.

It is also native to Australia. Like the pavlova. Just saying.

You have manuka in Australia?! I'll battle you over the pav, though. Tonight's rugby can settle it ;)

Yeah, it's also native to south-eastern Australia and Tassie.

As for the pav - we'll settle that on the field tonight ;)

Although now I come to think about it...I'm not at all sure why I think it's from Germany, I just do! Or did.....
