Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! This time tomorrow, it will all be over and Penny will be home again. I do understand how you feel though, that is why I chose to have boys for my last two dogs! I used to be a veterinary nurse and to us it was just a routine op but it is different when it is your own dog!
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Totally! I've observed loads of speys and castrations and spent some time as a clinic nursing assistant so have helped dogs through their recovery too. I know all about these ops but still, now it's my own dog I'm a nervous wreck!!!
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Good luck for tomorrow. There's no point me saying don't worry but just keep thinking by the time your watching 'corrie ' it will all be over and she'll be cuddled with you. . Assuming you watch 'corrie'
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Hahaha nope I'll be snuggling up with the latest season of Bones, or possible some Greys Anatomy... I like my box sets
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Good luck Penny, you 'll be on your way now .let us now how she does Lauren x
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Thanks for all your well wishes guys! Just got back from dropping her off. I hate leaving her so much, she puts her sad ears on and just stands and looks at me and won't go with the nurse until I've walked out Luckily the nurse today was someone I know from college and she'll be seeing her through her recovery too so that was nice to see a familiar face. She should be ready to pick up from 4pm but they will ring me once she's in recovery. If she takes a while to come round they may keep her overnight I hope that doesn't happen. It'll be too weird not having her here for that long!
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! I hope you get her back tonight. They sound very careful, which is a good thing I'm sure it will all go fine.
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Just had the phonecall from the vet - penny is in recovery and doing fine. Spey went fine, the only thing was that they found a few fleas on her!!! I'm horrified! I keep up to date with her treatment like clockwork, same with the cat and rabbits so I'm really surprised to hear that. Also a bit embarrassed to be honest. The vet nurse I spoke to asked what I used and I told her I tend to switch between frontline and advocate. She said it's best not to use the frontline anymore as they've had quite a few cases if animals still being found with fleas after treatment with frontline. Advocate all the way for us now!
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! So good to hear that all is well Lauren ;D ;D Dont worry about the fleas , nasty little devils , but you`re right to go with another treatment as I`ve heard the same thing about Frontline , hoping Penny will be home with you very soon
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Sounds like you will get her home today - that's great! Advocate will see those jumpy little pests on their way
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Oh the fleas are easy sorted ,I've been told the same about Frontline.Sounds like she will be home with you tonight hope you have an easy, comfortable night x
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Glad everything's gone ok. Never mind the fleas, easy got rid off. Hope she's back watching your box sets with you.
Re: Penny's getting speyed!!!! Glad to hear that Penny's OK. I'm sure that she'll be back to normal soon.
