Anyone else got a perverse pet?

Molly sits by the back door and makes a noise when she wants to go out. She starts with a gentle whimper and it gets louder until her door person (that would be me) comes along and opens the door. She is quite capable of opening the door as she opens all the internal doors, simply push down and it swings open.

However, when she wants to come back in she lets herself in. This is a much more difficult task. Not only is the handle about 25cm higher, but she now has to push the handle down and pull the door towards her.

    Like I said. Perverse pet.

Hehe, well done, Molly, keep 'em on their toes!

Yesterday evening it was chucking down with rain. I was running a bit late for their evening walk because of work, and Willow asked to go out on the terrace. I let her out, leaving the door ajar so she could get back in. A few minutes later, I heard her whining. She kept going, so I went out to see what was wrong. She had found a little dry bit around the corner to sit in and wouldn't move from it - she was "stuck". I called her and she came back in, but then started fussing to go out for a walk. When I took them, they were absolutely fine with being out in the pouring rain.

It's obviously a very different type of rain...

They are funny aren't they?rain on the terrace must have been that 'fine rain' ,makes you wetter! Our downstairs is totally open plan ...Dexter's room ( the utility room ) can be blocked off from the rest of the house by 2 doors, one of which has a child gate across it.We have to close that door and the gate to get in the dishwasher....if Dexter is in situ and we do close that door over....he doesn't get he can just run round through the other open door and see me ....loading the dishwasher....instead he will stand and stare at a closed door!however when the door bell goes ...he's out that open door like a shot! .??????

Rory now sees baby gates a a purely advisory thing, but he only gets over them in certain situations like when I go out to the storage shed to get a tin of dog food and am out of the kitchen. He also jumped it when the plumper came. He has now decided that the higher fence to the 2nd part of my garden is nothing too and can clear it easliy.. The gates still work most of the time I'm just in the process of teaching him just because you can jump them doesn't mean you are allowed too. never had a dog do it before ever, but then Rory is just cheeky

Hehe, this typo now has me thinking you're so posh, you have a special person to come and plump your cushions and pillows. :)

LOL, clearly the reason is you are invited to go outside with her. I think you are missing your cues. Maybe Molly needs to clicker train you. :)

Riley totally does this! He clearly wants to go out but if I just open the door for him he comes back as if to say "where are you? come on!"
