Just back from a week long break in Pickering, North Yorkshire with the soup dragon, we had a great time as they are so dog friendly down there. Our 'local' pub The Sun Inn was great, when we were there in the summer they just loved Baxter and they loved seeing him again now he's 4 months older. The landlady spoilt him rotten, we had trouble walking past the pub if it was closed lol.. He had great fun off lead, running up and down the beach at Whitby, Dalby forest is great for dog walks and there are lots of beautiful little villages to explore. All in all it was a fun doggy holiday. He was well behaved, didn't bother with other people when it was really busy but did notice he pulled more then usual so now we're back i'll work on that.. some pic's to follow
Sounds as if you had a great time. I remember Dalby Forest being great for dog walks years ago when we visited in the area. Planning to go back with Juno, once we're resident in the UK again
Yay North Yorkshire is soooo beautiful and dog friendly. You cant really go wrong, its doggy heaven , Emma and Meg (residents in North Yorks )
Bruer out of interest where did you stay? would you recommend? Just forward planning for some time away with Juno next year.
We stayed in a cottage which was really central, 2 minutes away from pub 5 minutes from town and railway station which was great but it was on the main road so very noisy with tractors and lorries heading to Whitby at night. I live on a busy street so quite comforting to me lol.. I slept like a log but not for everyone. Noticed in the visitors book that that was the main complaint, everyone loved the cottage but the noise put them off. Pickering has lots of beautiful little cottages for rent so you would be able to get one off the main road. I checked cottages for u then used google street maps to see what it looked like lol.. The area's fantastic, as i said very dog friendly with lots of walks. Just love it
I'm used to the tractors, that's about all we see every day, and a few minutes from a pub would please OH . I use google mapping all the time - I've just spent weeks, no on second thoughts make that months, looking at houses on Rightmove and then googling before shortlisting for viewings. Many thanks
