    hi all!
We will be going to pick out our newest little member of our family next week. Have read so many opinions on the things to look for. Just wondering if you all have any suggestions.

Exciting times! Congratulations :) People worry a lot about which puppy is the right one, and what to look out for, but even the most experienced breeders find it hard to predict how a tiny puppy is going to turn out. The secret is to pick the right litter, bred by an experienced breeder and then to be guided by them. With a well chosen, well bred litter, with two friendly, confident, health tested, happy parents, all the puppies will be great and you can also safely go with your heart and pick the one that appeals to you most.
You might find this series helpful, especially the section on choosing the right breeder, which is the most important part.

Good luck with your search! :)

Health testing and temperament of parents are massively important. I would not consider getting a pup from parents without full health testing and good hip scores and zero elbows.
You may not get to meet Dad, but do make sure that Mum is a nice temperament.
Beyond that, choosing a puppy from a litter can be pot luck, but take on board the one the breeder suggests for you as they will know the pups personalities best.
