I've passed this through with Pippa and the mod team, who are happy for me to post my request for charity here. As you know, the dog shelter I volunteer at is hugely under-funded and not the most luxurious of accommodations for the residents (understatement of the year). In the winter, there is very little protection from the wind and rain. Most of the dogs have breeze-block shelters in their kennels, but they do little against the elements and the concrete floors are freezing for the dogs to sleep on. The owners spread straw, but that is hugely unhygienic, forming a breeding ground for ticks, lice and other nasties. That's where you come in. If any of you have any old blankets, towels, bedding of any description or other linen that would be suitable to give the dogs something to make nests from, we would all be hugely appreciative. Anything to get them off the concrete and a little warmer. If you could spare anything like that and are willing to send it to my parents' address in England, I can pick it up to bring back when I drop Conchita off. Please PM me if you can help, and I'll give you the address. Thank you so much!
